How to Download a Font in 10 Easy Steps {With Pictures}

Are you tried of the crappy fonts that Microsoft gives you, but have problems downloading the cute fonts the internet has to offer? If you're like me, you are NOT an computer genius, and need some extra assistance. My friend Jenny showed me how to download cute fonts without all the hassle of knowing anything about computers. So if i've got this, YOU'VE got this! Lets go!

Step 1:
Go to a website such as dofont.com where free fonts are available.

Step 2:
As soon as you find your desired font click on "download."

Step 3:
As soon as it has downloaded to your computer, a box will pop up at the bottom of your screen, click on it to open the file.

Step 4:
A screen like this will pop up:

First, please note the name of your file. And then go to beneath the "Favorites" on the left side, and click on "Downloads." {It's the second one down.}

Step 5:
A screen like this will pop up, find the file with your font. {It should have a ".zip" at the end.}

Step 6:
Right click on your .zip file and a drop down menu will appear. Find the option of "Extract All" and click on it.

Step 7:
A box will appear, click "Extract" {found at the bottom of the box.}

Step 8:
While it is extracting, go to your Start Menu and find the Control Panel.

Step 9:
A box will pop up, within that box find the folder labeled "Fonts" and click on it. {It is found in the far left hand column and is five down from the top.}

Step 10:
While keeping the "Fonts" folder open while going back to the box you left in Step 7, drag the folder with your chosen font to the "Fonts" folder.

Once you have moved your font into the Fonts folder you can close everything up and go into your Word program. Here you will find your font, under it's name, in the drop down font menu!

Please let me know if you have any questions or if any of my steps are unclear!

GOOD LUCK and have fun with your new fonts!!!
